Files and folders
You choose what OgreClean can reach with the operating-system folder picker. On a Mac it reads the home folder you grant access to and the size of the Applications folder. It reads other drives or connected devices only if you add them, and folders macOS protects (such as Mail, Messages and the Trash) only if you turn on Full Disk Access.
What the app stores
OgreClean keeps its schedule, activity history, the drives you added, the Vault manifest and the results of your last Smart Scan (the names, sizes and dates of what it listed, never file contents) on your computer, so the app can resume your work and show your last results after a restart. Items you move to the Vault remain on your device. Items from an external drive are held in a hidden .OgreCleanVault folder on that drive. They stay until you delete them or, for items labeled Safe, until they are deleted automatically 7 days after cleaning. The Settings & privacy screen shows where the app’s data folder is.
Scheduled maintenance and alerts
If you turn on a schedule, OgreClean can run in the background while the app is closed. On a Mac it asks the system to start OgreClean briefly at the scheduled time (you can see and switch this off under Login Items in System Settings, or by turning the schedule off in the app); other systems use their own task scheduler where it is available. The scheduled run works only on your computer, with the same access you already granted, and sends nothing anywhere. It shows the result as a system notification, which needs your permission, and records it in the Activity view. In Clean automatically mode it moves only the Safe locations you approved to the Vault.
Purchases
If you buy Pro, the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store processes the transaction and handles your payment and account information under its own privacy policy. OgreClean does not receive your payment-card details. The store build uses the platform’s purchase service to load and manage purchases.
Network access and links
OgreClean has no developer-run account, analytics or scan-upload service, and includes no third-party SDKs that collect data. When you open a Support, Privacy, Impressum or Terms link, your browser connects to that page; the website host then receives an ordinary web request.
Deleting your data
Restore or delete items from the Vault in the app. The app’s activity history, settings and last scan results are stored in its data folder on your computer, whose location is shown under Settings & privacy.
Children
OgreClean does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated text and review date will appear on this page.
